From street corner busking to formal stages — flexible string performances from an intimate duo up to a full multi-string ensemble.
"From Bach to BTS — Timeless Classical Masterworks to Modern Pop Hits."
The Bach Fan Club String Ensemble (BFC) is a Gloucestershire-based group of young string musicians who first performed together in the award-winning Gloucestershire Youth String Orchestra (GYSO). The ensemble was officially born during a 2026 concert tour to Leipzig, Germany-taking its name from a memorable moment fanning themselves outside J.S. Bach's historic monument.
Their debut performance was a busking session in Cheltenham Town Centre to raise funds for Gloucestershire Music. The day was such a resounding success that they decided to keep the energy going as a permanent, flexible performance ensemble.
Built on a completely democratic approach, the five core founding players rotate parts across their repertoire-ensuring every performance is fresh and dynamic. While centered around these five musicians, the ensemble easily expands with fellow young string players to fit any setting, from outdoor street sets to full chamber arrangements.
